This is a letter of praise for William (sic) [Walter] Willenkin, the manager of store #01-3274 at 1950 Martin Luther King Way, Berkeley, CA.

I am a computer programmer/analyst. I've been in the industry for 26 years, and have had my own data processing business for 15 years.

I own and use a DMP 500 printer which has provided excellent service for several years. I now want a faster printer and went into the store to discuss the choices available with Mr. Willenkin.

I was impressed with your manager's knowledge of the characteristics of items in your inventory. Even more impressive however, is his sensitivity in assessing the knowledge level of customers and responding appropriately to their questions.

Mr. Willenkin treated me as a professional immediately. In my experience, most salesmen and managers, respond to women customers as computer illiterates who obviously only do wod processing.

His manner is very pleasant, and his astuteness inspires confidence. I do hope you encourage him by appreciating these qualities and promoting him. By hiring and promoting employees with these qualities, you generate customer loyalty.
