I, Walter Willenkin, was born on the East Coast of the United States of America.

Emi Okino was born in Japan. We met in Taiwan in 1984 while studying Chinese in Taipei.

We married in 1993. Since July 1996 we have lived with her parents in a two-story home in Nishinomiya.
